Hi everyone, well its my second blog already ! Its just a quick blog as it’s exam week at university so my head is firmly in the books studying. But I’m really pleased to share that for Learning disability Awareness week I will be attending events all week with Sally to promote the petition and highlight the importance of inclusive communication.

Reforms to protect disabled and LGBT+ victims, criminalise extremist misogynist “incel” hate material, and safeguard free speech Dec 2021
Reforms would ensure disabled and LGBT+ victims of hate crime receive same protection as those targeted because of their race and religion.
Extending existing offences of stirring up hatred to cover incitement of violence and hatred on grounds of sex.
Law Commission also recommends Government consider the need for public sexual harassment offence.
New protection for free speech, safeguarding private conversations and journalists’ reporting.
Even though these Reformed changes will improve the law. We still have to recognise in the last five years crimes have been doubled and that further improvements need to be made to protect the characteristics of people targeted by these crimes , its still questions how the police and legal system will enable people to come forward and be supported through the legal system as many do not report the crimes due to understanding the crime has happened and legal case never go to court. And how they will effectively communicate .
