Learning Disability Awareness Week
During Learning Disability Awareness week 2023. Our Ambassadors will be at different events giving out information, resources, goodies and chances to win a free MakatonLDND teddies. But most importantly getting signatures because everyone should have access to communicate in there own method of communication.
Our Aim is to reach 3,000 signatures !

We’ve been shortlisted !
We are delighted to be shortlisted for “The Breaking Down Barriers Individual Award 2023” To us being recognised for the work we do for breaking down communication barriers that people face is the reason why we started the petition. We feel that all learning disability nurses should have the skills to communicate by using Makaton, so the people they support that use this method of communication can express their needs, health concerns and wishes can do this independently without relying on a third party. This will also enable to build up Trust between them and their nurse when they are in a situation that could be stressful.
